The September commons meeting was held September 16th in Staten Island at Willowbrook Park, after Staten Island archery practice & picnic.  (We moved it from our usual 3rd Friday to avoid conflicting with Queens Farm demo preparations.)  Here are the minutes as recorded by Alienor Salton. This coming Friday, August 17th, 7-9pm, we will gather in Astoria Park for a post-Pennsic get-together.

This is our regularly-scheduled Commons evening, however, this will be more of a social gathering than our usual meeting.

Everyone is invited. This gathering is free and open to all members of the public. No prior experience or medieval clothing is required. Newcomers are particularly welcome — come by and meet folks who share your interests!

We will gather at the north end of the park, near 19th St. at Ditmars Blvd. [Google Map]

The closest subway station is Astoria-Ditmars Blvd, at the end of the N/W line; from there you can take the Q69 bus west along Ditmars, or just walk nine blocks west until you reach the park.

Our exact location will depend on how occupied the park is. We’ll hoist a seahorse banner to make it easier for everyone to find the group.

We encourage people to bring a folding chair or a blanket to sit on, and some snacks to share.
