The May Northpass Arts & Sciences Sunday Solar is this Sunday.  

This Solar will be held…

When: Sunday May 3, 2026 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Where: The home of Meister Friderich and Dame Lilie Dubh in Mohegan Lake, NY

R.S.V.P.’s are required but can be done at any time, including the day of the Solar.  Email Friderich at 110928@members.eastkingdom.org

Food will be provided, and guests are welcome to provide contributions to the table.  Please let Friderich know about allergies or dietary restrictions.  Please note there are two young and social cats in the home.

For those wishing to use public transportation, the closest train station is the Peekskill Metro North station on the Hudson Line.  Taxi cabs are often available at the train station.

Northpass’ July Sunday Solar – Accessories!

July 20th from 1 to 4 PM at Vitasha’s home. Please rsvp below to her email address.

Bring your own projects to work on, or join one of the classes.

Vitasha will be available to teach you how to make Viking wire weaving, temple rings, kumihimo, and Viking bead strands.

Tools will be available for use for all of the activities, wire and some dowels for the wire weaving and temple rings, limited colors of embroidery floss (DMC) for the kumihimo, and a limited supply of beads for the temple rings and bead strands.

Feel free to bring additional floss, wire, or beads for your project.

Feel free to bring snacks to share.

June Sunday Solar – Garb workshop

Come join us in Northpass (New Rochelle) to work on garb (clothing).

Bring your works in progress. There will be room on the table for people to bring two sewing machines, and there’s plenty of seating for people doing hand sewing.

Feel free to bring your extra garb, fabric, and trim to trade with others.

The Northpass Sunday Solar on December 22 will be a Medieval Soup Tasting!
Research a period soup, bread, or flavored butter recipe, then create that dish and bring it to share.
We will share our dishes and sample each other’s recipes.

The event will be in Mohegan Lake in northern Northpass from 3-6 pm

Arts & Sciences Day

Market Scene – 15th century

Join us at the home of Friderich and Lilie for a variety of arts and sciences activities. Activities for the day:

  • A general gathering for people to work on their projects while socializing with others
  • A cooking demo by Friderich.
  • Armor repair will be available in the basement for those who need to work on their kits. Weather permitting, outside will also be available.
  • A scribal class taught by Lada. Come find out what scribes do to create the beautiful award scrolls given by the local Vicereines and the kingdom Royals. Try out your hand at the scribal arts using materials brought by Lada, or bring your own works in progress to work on or for consultation.

⚠ IMPORTANT NOTICES ⚠

  1. Feel free to bring a snack to share, however, please do not bring any items with strawberries or mixed berries due to severe allergies by the host.
  2. Please note: If you are feeling unwell, please do not attend this event. There will be an immune compromised person at the home.
  3. Allergy notice: If you are allergic to cats, please note that there are cats in the home of our host.

Sunday Solar – Sewing Party

The next Sunday Solar will be an in person event where we will work on personal sewing projects. Bring what you are working on and stitch away in the company of others. Need assistance with your project? Ask, and we will do our best to assist you. There will be room to set up sewing machines if you wish to bring one to work on your project. 

As stated above, the Solar will be held at the home of Catelin in Mount Vernon, which is near the Metro North station. Please contact Catelin or Vitasha to RSVP and get the address.
