Østgarðr Winter Fighting Practice

From the Provincial Knight Marshal,

The Crown Province of Østgarðr will be holding a weekly indoor fighter practice on Wednesday evenings from 6-8 PM at the Manhattanville Community Center at 530 W. 133rd St, New York, NY 10057. The site has bathrooms with running hot water, and it’s free.

We have access to this space thanks to Gladiators NYC, who trains there on the same night. They may also allow us some use of there armor repair facilities.

When you get there, say that you are here for “Gladiators NYC” and they will point you in the right direction. They will, however, ask you to fill out a form the first time you come in to this space owned by a non-profit neighborhood organization.

Since this is still an official SCA practice, all current SCA, Inc. and East Kingdom masking protocols will be in effect for our people. As this is a shared community space, people with other groups in the center may not be masked. Please read the East Kingdom Health Acknowledgement at the bottom of this announcement.

By Public Transit: The nearest subway stop is 125th St or 137th St on the 1 train. Expect a several block walk from either station. The site is also near stops for the M4, M11, M100 and M101 buses.

By Car: Street Parking is available, but finding a spot can be extremely challenging (it is Manhattan). If you contact me, I or someone else can meet you at your car and get your stuff inside while you find parking.

I hope to see you there!

– Lord Ervald LaCoudre Edwardson the Optimistic
