Wantagh is located on Long Island, twenty-five miles east of downtown New York City.
By Train
The site is within easy walking distance of the LIRR light rail station, with connections to New York’s Penn Station.
Take the Babylon branch of the Long Island Railroad to the Wantagh station.
The trip from Penn Station to Wantagh takes about an hour and costs $9.75 if you purchase your ticket before boarding the train. Schedule and fare information can be found at http://lirr42.mta.info/.
When you exit the station you will be adjacent to Brooklyn Avenue. The event site is a five-minute walk (0.25 miles) west of the station along Brooklyn Ave.
By Automobile
Please note that there is limited parking at the site itself, which will be designated for handicapped parking, but there is a large municipal parking lot on Brooklyn Avenue adjacent to the Wantagh LIRR station. There are no fees or permits needed to park in the municipal lot on the day of the event. From there it is a five-minute walk (two blocks, 0.25 miles) to the event site.

From New York City or Western Nassau: Take your best route to either the Northern State Pkwy or Southern State Pkwy heading east to the Wantagh State Pkwy South. Continue southbound on the Wantagh State Pkwy to exit W5 E, NY-27 east. After merging onto NY-27 east, move left, and make a left turn at the second traffic light onto Beech St. and follow the local driving directions from Beech St. below.
From the West via the Long Island Expressway: Take the LIE (I-495) to exit 44S to merge onto Seaford-Oyster Bay Expressway (NY-135) S toward Seaford. Drive for 9.0 miles. Take exit 2W to merge onto NY-27 W toward New York. Drive for 0.9 miles. Turn right onto Beech St. and follow the local driving directions from Beech St. below.
From Eastern Long Island: Take your best route using the Long Island Expressway (I-495), Northern State Pkwy, or Southern State Pkwy west to Seaford-Oyster Bay Expressway (NY-135) south toward Seaford. Take exit 2W to merge onto NY-27 W toward New York. Drive for 0.9 miles and then turn right on Beech St. and follow the local driving directions from Beech St. below.
From the Port Jefferson Ferry: After getting off of the ferry, follow signs for Rte. 112 South. Take 112 South to the LIE, and follow the instructions from Eastern Long Island above.
From the Orient Point Ferry: Take Rte 25 West from the ferry for about 41 miles to the LIE, and then follow the instructions from Eastern Long Island above.
Local Driving Directions
Once You Reach Beech St: Continue until you pass under the train tracks, and free municipal parking will be on your right and left. The largest section of the lot is on the right side, accessible by continuing to the next intersection at Park Avenue and turning right.
After You Park: To your left after the train tracks is Brooklyn Ave. The event site is a five-minute walk (0.25 miles) west of the main municipal parking along Brooklyn Ave.
If you need to drop off gear: Continue past the parking lot, make a left onto Park Ave, and then the second left onto Jones Ave to the event site where you can drop off your gear, and then go park in the municipal lot before returning to the event site.
