Seneschal
(report in absentia): Riverfest wants us back, 6/14.
Other minor stuff.
Herald: Nothing to report.
Lions End: Nothing much. Sheri Witty
is new Deputy Seneschal.
Brokenbridge:
Nothing much. Will have a new Seneschal (Lily
Tanksley / Red Towers) soon due to Attack of Life.
Exchequer:
we have lots of money. Received $625 for Berkeley
Carroll School demo. Subotai has check from
Cloisters; will deposit soon. Athena’s Thimble has
been keeping their money in our account for years;
they want to empty it and move it into an EK
account.
Historian: Nothing to report.
Whyt Whey: Various officers have renewed their
membership. Check from Cloisters has arrived.
A&S to resume in January.
Chatelaine:
Diablu has been transferred to different
institution, still in Florida, trying to start PT.
Started working on building up basic Gold Key
inventory, using beginners’ sewing circle. Would
like to do an all-day workshop to generate more:
dresses, tunics, belts.
Fabric-shopping expedition. Want more children’s
activities at events: lots of people have been
asking about this at demos. Discussion of
children’s activities and children’s officers.
Enigma doing some kind of convention, and would
like our participation; waiting on details of
date, theme, etc. Angela suggests trying to get an
SCA presence at Maker Fair (9/26-27/2015; might
conflict with QCFFD and/or Cloisters, but will
keep investigating).
Web: Kingdom site
getting more stable, but we haven’t migrated to it
yet. It’s maintained by volunteers, and we sorta
like having our site on a server maintained by
people who get paid for it.
Viceroy:
Regalia being improved. Pewter casting (Carowyn)
for Seahorse, Seadog, etc. medallions. Want
something for each Champion position. Kneeling
pillows. Silk banners. Portable backdrop behind
thrones to hold banners (c. $80 in materials, to
be built at Tormundr’s scene shop). Coronets (c.
$80/each, in stainless steel). Discussion of
priorities, materials, etc. Hoping to have some
stuff done by February, everything by Champions’
event [early summer?] Angela is contact person for
list of regalia projects.
Events: Seasons’
Beatings cancelled due to site problems.
Would still like to have some kind of free,
newcomer-friendly event at least once a year.
Discussed Richard’s “Picnic on the Rhine” as
another possible model.
Musicians’ Day:
happened, 35-40 attendees, haven’t finished event
report yet but it’s in the black. Tag sale made
$127. Downsized preparation (no bags & site
book). Bruce came back from Cleveland to work the
kitchen. Another of the kitchen helpers was killed
in car accident a few days before, so things were
emotional, but went well.
Lion in Winter
(Feb. 21): Schola, dayboard, class schedule
coordinated with An Dubh schola a month later
(e.g. Part I at Lions End, Part II at An Dubh).
Duggmore autocrat. Brekke taking
reservations.
K&Q Bardic Champs: Nordenfjord, Jan.
31
Provincial
Champions’ Event (considering April or May).
Upcoming meetings: Lori’s office in Bronx,
Jan. 16
Feb. 20? at Gy’s house (has dog).
Mar. 20? Johanne will host unless somebody else wants to.
Officers’ Meeting Feb. 8, 2 PM at Johanne’s.
January Commons will be 7:30 p.m. Friday, January
16, 2015, at the office of Eliot Engel, 3655
Johnson Avenue, the Bronx.
By Car
From the South:
Best route to Henry Hudson Parkway in Manhattan.
Cross into the Bronx. Exit 20 for W. 239th
Street.
From access road, take first right onto Johnson Avenue
and look for parking.
The office is almost immediately there.
From the North:
Best route to Saw Mill Parkway in the Bronx (e.g.
heading south from the Cross County).
Two miles south of the Cross County, this becomes the
Henry Hudson Parkway.
Exit 19 for W. 232nd Street and make a U-turn onto the
Henry Hudson northbound.
Exit 20 for W. 239th Street.

From the Provincial MoAS
