The meeting was called to order at approximately 7:50
PM.
Officer Reports
[brevity was requested as this is the last meeting
before Crown Tourney]
Northpass:
the new exchecquer was installed and is reporting
to Kingdom. Barleycorn is in process and is hoping
for more
fighting/better fighting weather, and the new shire
they~Rre
sponsoring is planning a Nova Schola.
Historian:
history is ongoing.
Knight Marshal:
all is good in the Marshallate.
Whyt Whey:
all cool, Angelica is stepping in as Exchequer,
and an incoming seneschal has been chosen
A&S:
all cool
Chatelaine:
there may be a college media student reporting at
Crown Tourney.
Lions End:
Francesco is caught in Boston due to weather-related
problems
Chamberlaine:
the expected tent delivery didn't happen,
but it is expected either Monday or Tuesday.
Exchequer:
there were no withdrawal transactions but some
deposits from Crown Tourney reservations.
Archery:
will be starting up soon on Staten Island and may begin
this weekend if weather permits.
Seneschal:
report is in but he has had no confirmation from
Kingdom. He needs to talk to Tormundr about
kingdom as report is due same day as Viking Day demo.
Viceroy:
site tokens were achieved.
Past Events and Demos:
Lunacon Demo: Went well; 40% of people there were
ex-SCA.
Tartan Day: Probably a good idea to do. Final
cutoff to march is Feb. 1; we need to bring it up again
in December.
Viking Day is May 18.
The An Dubheaigainn/Ostgardr challenge is on the East
Kingdom Calendar for Saturday June 8 at Huntington
Unitarian Church. The Viceroy wants to hear from
all of our champions.
Barleycorn is looking for a Marshal in Charge.
The Florentine event is being scheduled for fall.
Riverfest: we are being moved to the area around the
castle. We will need pictures for the
Province. Live steel Battle of Nations will also
be there.
Cloisters is the first weekend in October. Queens
Farms date is not yet set but it is usually the third
weekend in September.
Workshops: Garb workshop at Jackie~Rs on Sunday (changed
from previous week). The Stitch & Sing is
scheduled to be held along with the Beau Geste Tourney
this weekend. There is a possible fight clinic on
May 12 with Sir Jehan, Sir Mordreth, and Count Sir
Horic.
Crown Tourney:
Cook: Sausage making is set for the weekend. The
feast gear will be on the Island on Sunday, and we are
planning for 112 people total, including staff, for
feast.
Royalty Liaison: want 11:00 tourney check-in, noon
start. Court, Viceregal court, feast time 7 to
7:30, with the Rose Tourney to follow Crown Tourney
before Court.
Publicity: We are getting lots of publicity on social
media list. The EK Gazette will have one last
article before the event.
Archery has been cancelled due to range
restrictions. It is better not to offer it at all
than to go off-site without a guaranteed available
range, which is impossible at this date.
We may also have some period board games available.
It may be possible to have Thrown Weapons, but there
will probably be nothing official happening.
There is no great upsurge in expected rapier fighters.
We need three volunteers to set up the hall. Tom
can't be there to open but will show up later.
There will be classes from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM at one
end of the picnic area.
The heralds may set up in the hall if the weather is
inclement.
A&S Display will be in the hall and will be
staffed. There will be an auction of a stained
glass pane to benefit the Kingdom Travel Fund.
Setup: Gui will handle tents and fighting field.
We need signs to the hall, both Mitch & Debbie's and
the new Green & White, and torches for the
Torchlight Tourney. We will have the fighting
barrier available.
We need staff to help troll in for the Torchlight
Tourney, probably until 9:00. We do not expect
many who are not staff on Friday evening, however.
We can be on site at 3:00; open troll at 5:00, and
expect to shut down official troll around 9:30.
We have popups and tables for troll but need
chairs. We need at least 1 6 ft. table for the
List and chairs. We need tiki torches.
We know where the nearest hospital is and will have the
West Kingdom head chirurgeon on site.
The next meeting will be May 17 at Francesco Greco's
[NOTE CHANGE OF VENUE, below--Ed.]. The June
meeting will be at Jackie and Luigi's in
Northpass. The August meeting is not yet set.
We need to set up an officers' meeting after
Crown. A Pennsic meeting would be a good idea.
The Vicereine reported that Viking Day setup starts
around 10:00. The Viking tent Erlann is bringing down is
OK, since it does not require stakes. Tormundr is
the site autocrat/liaison.
On May 22, there is a career fair for a Middle School in
the Bronx and they would appreciate business
representatives to discuss possible careers with the
students.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:50 PM.

and Luigj Kapaj,
