Transcribed by Carol Smith
Mar. 15, 2013
Attending: Seneschal Friedrich Grimm, Historian
Richard the Poor of Ely, Vicereine Johanne, Exchecquer
Ian of Clan Mitchell, Whyt Whey Seneschal
Eularia True, Herald/Lions End Seneschal Francesco
Greco de Edessa, Mistress of Arts and Sciences Lady
Lada, Melanie, Chamberlain Katherine Gillesflower,
Alexandre d'Avigne, Castellan Diablu, Knight Marshal
Jarl Valgard, Chris, Ana, and Brekke Franksdottir.
Officer Reports:
Exchecquer: We
have money. Master Richard the Poor will step in
as replacement after Crown Tourney reports are
finished. Otherwise, nothing from Kingdom.
Chatelaine: Talked
with young gentleman at Tavern, am in touch with new
Northpass Chatelaine.
Historian: Nothing
to report
Northpass:
Tavern proved popular and was well-attended.
There will be a Lunacon demo. We are in the
process of switching our Exchecquer to Chris
Roeder. Richard will do the first quarter
report, and Chris will do the second. The
incipient shire we are sponsoring across the river
will probably be holding its first event the last
Saturday in September. Croton Point Park may
serve as a possible event site for Northpass.
The Florentine event is scheduled for Blue Mountain
Lodge the first weekend in October.
Knight Marshal:
Practices are being held at Grant’s Tomb, as is the
Beau Geste tourney. We need fighters for the
Northpass demo; so far it’s Val and Ervald.
Reports were filed on time.
Whyt Whey:
commons next Thursday at Piglet’s family apartment,
which is now available for meetings. Eularia is
moving to the UK in the fall and we need to replace
our Seneschal. Alessandra is graduating and
moving at least temporarily from the East Kingdom for
graduate studies.
Lions End: Not
much to report. Julian has stepped in a s
Herald; he is also serving as Elmet Herald for the
East Kingdom. We have no events coming up.
Herald: new
deputy in in Lions End.
Arts and Sciences: first quarter reporting is
in. Lots of A&S happenings, including dance,
sewing, and calligraphy.
Seneschal:
Kingdom report is in process, need to check for
updated officer information. We need an Officers
Meeting in May.
Vicereine: we
need a Pennsic meeting. Ian was nominated and
elected to be Camp Master for Pennsic. Viking
Day is Saturday, May 18. Barleycorn site is
reserved. The Northpass Florentine event is the
first weekend in October. Tartan day is April
5. We will check it out this year as we are
currently well-occupied with running Crown.
Event Updates:
Crown Tourney:
Staff and most deputies are set. Questions to
the site are currently awaiting answers. We need
dance masters (What about Thomas Trueheart?) We
will need $200.00 unbudgeted funds for roses for the
Rose Tourney. Archery and Thrown Weapons are
still up in the air but should be worked out with the
Scout range masters in the near future. We are
going to host, in addition to Crown Tourney, a Rose
Tourney in both Heavy Weapons and in Rapier.
There is the possibility of classes early in the
day. Friedrich is responsible for Feast; Mael
Eoin is handling dayboard. There will be an
A&S display in the dining hall during the day, but
note that it is a long walk from the fighting
field. There will be a Torchlight Tourney for
early arrivals Friday night and melee practice
Sunday. Children’s Activities will be run by
Julie Steles, Kingdom Deputy Chancellor Minor.
Site closes at 4:00 Sunday afternoon. The
Vicereine proposed a Ladies’ Tea to be held in the
covered pavilion near the fighting field. We
need to organize pop-ups for gate and site and need
new marker stakes for the list field.
New Business:
Riverfest had nothing more to report.
The next meeting will be April 19 at Jeff and Laurie’s
in Manhattan. The May 17 meeting is tentatively
scheduled for Barrone Francesco Greco de Edessa in
Lions End, and we will ask Tom and Katherine if they
will host the June 21 meeting at Mohegan Lake.

April 13: Beer and Mead Making in Northpass, hosted by
Oliver
April 13: Chinese Pork Buns in An Dubheaigainn, hosted
by Michelle

April Commons will be on Friday, April 19 in the basement
meeting room
of Lorree True and Jeff Berry, 552 Riverside Drive
(Just south of 125th Street on Riverside Drive), New
York, NY
➦By subway, take the #1 train to 125th St. Exit
to the right after coming out of the turnstile and go
down the escalator to 124th St. (there's a sign in the
station pointing the way). On the street, you'll be at
the intersection of Broadway and Tiemann Pl. Go
up the hill on Tiemann Pl. towards the park.
That's Riverside Dr. Turn right on Riverside and
our building is in the middle of the block (a little
block heading downhill
toward the huge Columbia residence next door).
Shout for someone to let you in!
➦By car from the west, take the Henry Hudson to the
125th street exit.
➦By car from the east, cross somewhere and get to
125th and RSD. (For example, the Triboro Bridge
dumps you onto 125th; when you get to Broadway, start
looking for parking.) Your best bet for parking
is up around Grant's Tomb. If you do park by
Grant's Tomb, you'll need to walk east and then
down. We're on a short chunk of RSD which is
one-way, and next to the tallest building for blocks
(well, excepting Riverside Church).
