This is the March 2012 issue of The E-Horse,
a publication of the Ancient and Honorable Crown
Province of Ostgardr of the Society for Creative
Anachronism, Inc. (SCA, Inc.).
The E-Horse is available from the Chronicler.
It is not a corporate publication of SCA, Inc., and
does not delineate SCA, Inc. policies.
This
newsletter, "The E-Horse", is an experiment in
electronic publishing: a computerized version of the
venerable "Seahorse" newsletter. Obviously, it doesn't
require photocopying, collating, stapling, stamping,
and sealing, and it's not subject to the vagaries of
the U.S. Postal System. It also allows us to easily
include photos like the one at right (a set of wooden
writing-tablets, from the Byzantine empire, c. 500-700
AD, currently in the the Metropolitan Museum of Art).
It allows us to include videos, e.g.
the following BBC show about the 14th-century English
cookbook The Forme of Cury.
We can even include sound recordings like this one:

Auctions were discussed. Felt they work better at some
events than others. Discussed having hand made items
(not old stuff) Items that would show the talent of
our members. Baron Bish has a garb donation that he
has inventoried and some of the items would be very
good for an auction. Raffles and 50-50''s were
discussed. A lot of ideas were raised. Discussion was
shelved until later meeting when more people were
present Richard the Poor brought up the idea of making
a donation and that would get you your own piece of
feast gear for a period of time ie: The Richard the
Poor Soup Pot, the Lionsend frying pan, etc. warm
reception, further discussion needed.
Sir Gui brought up the idea of Viceregal Crowns. They
are entitled to wear them, we now have chains of
office. Shelved til larger meeting.
Tax ID numbers brought up, baron Ian to look into it.
Meeting adjourned to partake of the yummy smelling
food.
