Demos were held at the Viking Day festival in Broken Bridge on May 14, at the EternalCon sci-fi con in Garden City on June 11 and 12, at the Riverdale RiverFest on June 12, the Cloisters Medieval Faire on September 18, and the Queens County Fair on September 24 and 25.

Lord Mongo Chinua became the Herald in May.

At the Feast of John Barleycorn in Northpass on September 10, Suuder Saaran and Lada Monguligin were invested as the Viceroy and Vicereine of Ostgardr. Seadogs were bestowed upon Lille of the Red Towers and Barbara “the Nearly Naked Frisian” de Vries for their contributions to the Canton of Broken Bridge. A Sea Lantern was given to Ervald la Coudre the Optimistic. Seahorses were given to Guy avec Cheval and Johanna ap Visby after they stepped down as Viceroy and Vicereine in recognition of their years of service. Jenna Childslayer was inducted into the Order of the Silver Crescent.

Also at that event, Ervald la Coudre the Optimistic became the Province’s Heavy Weapons Champion, Mongo Chinua became the Archery Champion, and Yehuda ben Moishe became the Fencing Champion.

Musician’s Day was held on November 12.

Several new officers took over in January: Lady Beatrice della Rocca (Chatelaine), Lady Sofya Gianetta di Trieste (Minister of Arts and Sciences), Lord Ervald la Coudre the Optimistic (Knight Marshal), Lady Arnbjorg Helga Nilsdottir (Captain of Archers), and Erich Gutermuth (Minister of Lists).

Lord Alexander MacLaughlin was given the Order of the Seal Lion at Brokenbridge’s Twelfth Night in Valhalla event on January 7.

Lady Sofya Gianetta di Trieste was named the Queen’s Arts and Sciences Champion on February 11. Silver Crescents were given to Sir Jabril at Mudthaw on March 25, and Lady Angelica di Nova Lipa at Balfar’s Challenge on April 22.

At Lions in the Spring on April 22, Lady Beatrice della Rocca was named the Provincial Arts and Sciences Champion, and Lady Jenna Childslayer was named the Provincial Bardic Champion. Lady Marion of York had her Seahorse augmented with a clump of seaweed.

Annal for A.S. L (5/15 – 4/16)

In June, Guy and Johanna announced their intentions to step down as Viceroy and Vicereine. By September, only Lord Suuder and Lady Lada made known their desire to replace them. The polling was conducted in February. In early April, the polling was approved and Suuder and Lada were confirmed as the next Viceroy and Vicereine. The date for the Investiture was not yet set.

At Pennsic, Sofya of Østgarðr was given a Silver Crescent on August 5.

At John Barleycorn Goes to War in Northpass on September 12, Silver Lanterns were given to Aqualina of the Sea Cliffs, Oliver de Bainbridge, Angelica di Nova Lipa, and Friderich Grimm. Seadogs were given to Conandil ingen Donngaile and Wilhelm of Northpass. The Queens County Fair was held on September 19, and the Cloisters Renaissance Fair on October 4.

Thomas of Northpass took over as Seneschal for that canton in September. In November, Lady Eilionora inghen ui Ruairc announced that she would be stepping down as Seneschal. Baron Francesco Gaetano Greco d’Edessa would serve as Acting Seneschal until a replacement could be formally chosen. Baron Francesco was chosen for that office in March; Countess Brekke Franksdottir was confirmed as his replacement as Seneschal of Lions End. Lady Angelica di Nova Lipa took over as Exchequer in February, Lady Alienor Salton replaced her as Seneschal of Whyt Whey. Baron Francesco Gaetano Greco d’Edessa was made a Companion of the Seahorse at Broken Bridge’s Bacon Bridge event on February 6.

Annal for A.S. XLIX (5/14 – 4/15)

The Province hosted the Second Annual Østgarðr – An Dubhaigeainn Challenge on June 7, at which Lady Maeve of Abbeydorney was given the Order of the Seahorse. In July, Suuder took over as Seneschal for Brokenbridge.

Judith fitzHenry the Uncertain was inducted as a Companion of the Laurel during East Kingdom Royal Court at Pennsic.

At the Funeral Games for John Barleycorn on September 6, Seadogs were given to Alienor Salton and Magdalena Carminante; Seahorses were given to Aethelsan of St. Maur, Ibrahim al-Rashid, and Sofya of Østgarðr. Richard the Poor of Ely was made a Court Baron. Mongo Chinua was given a Sagittarius at River Wars on September 13.

The Province participated in the Queens’ County Fair on September 20 and 21, and did a modest demo at the Berkeley-Carroll School on October 25. Musician’s Day was held on November 22.

Lady Sofya of Østgarðr became the Chatelaine in November.

At Lions in Winter on February 21, Vicereine Johanna ap Visby introduced the Silver Lantern award. This is to honor those in the arts who have not only excelled, but who have been seen to grow and develop in their chosen field. The first two honorees were Alienor Salton and Godiva eclippa Blackheart di Mer. Also at Lions in Winter, Douglas Dugmore was made a Companion of the Seadog.

A Champions Event was held in Lions End on April 18.

Annal for A.S. XLVIII (5/13 – 4/14)

The Viking Day Demo was held on May 18. At the Feast of John Barleycorn in Northpass on September 7, Ibrahim al-Rashid became the Fencing Champion; Helga Nielsdottir became the Archery Champion; and Wolfgang der Sucher became the Thrown Weapons Champion. Also at that event, John the Bear was named a Silver Sea Lion for his contributions and skill in thrown weapons.

On June 1, Subotai Cinoa became the seneschal of Whyt Whey, and on September 1, Richard the Poor of Ely took over as exchequer.

A demo was held at the Queens County Fair on September 21 and 22. Season’s Beatings was held on February 1.

At Mudthaw on March 22, Lada Mongguligan was honored with a Silver Crescent and Luis de Castilla was honored with a Knighthood.

At some point during this year, Eilionora inghen ui Ruairc took over as Seneschal.

Annal for A.S. XLVII (5/12 – 4/13)

It was another busy summer for demos: Viking Day on May 12, Riverdale Riverfest on June 24, Queens County Fair on September 22 and 23, and the Cloisters on September 30. At the Cloisters, M. Antonius Scaevola became the Champion of Armored Combat.

In the autumn, a new procedure for officer terms and elections was put in place. All offices would be on two-year terms, with a limit of two consecutive terms. The major Provincial offices were put on a schedule to change over at the beginning of the calendar year, with the offices divided on alternate years so that there would never be a huge changeover of key offices in any one year. At the start of 2013, several offices changed hands. The new officers were:

A “Musician’s Day” event was held on January 23, after having been postponed from the previous November.

The Province hosted Crown Tournament on April 27. During Viceregal court, Lord Suuder was made a Sea Lion, Melanie de la Tour and Ysenda MacBeth were inducted into the Order of the Seahorse, and Þòrmundr inn Iandverski was made a Sea Dog.

Annal for A.S. XLVI (5/11 – 4/12)

Demos were held at the Viking Day Festival on May 14, the Riverdale Riverfest on June 12, Queens County Fair on September 24 and 25, and the Cloisters on October 2.

At Pennsic, Wilhelm of Northpass received a Maunche. Both Oscad de Segovia and Guy avec Chevaux received the accolade of Knighthood; the former at East Kingdom court and the latter on the Field.

At the Barleycorn event on September 10, the Viceregency was passed to Sir Gui avec Cheveaux and Johanna ap Visby. Mistress Eularia Trewe was inducted into the Order of the Seahorse. Championship tourneys were held; the winners were John the Bear (Thrown Weapons), Edwin Fletcher (Archery), and Brendan Firebow (Fencing). Þòrmundr inn Iandverski became the Seneschal of Brokenbridge in November.

A Schola was held on November 5. At Season’s Beatings in Brokenbridge on December 3, Devra the Baker was made a Companion of the Sea Dog. Also at that event, Lord Llewellyn ap Rhys was the first inductee into the Order of the Sea Lion, an order for both prowess in the martial arts, and leadership and training in those arts. The motto for the order is “I Go Forth, so that Others Might Follow”.

On February 18 at the Lions End event, “Lions on the Silk Road”, Lile Dubh inghean ui Mordh became the Province’s Bardic Champion.

Annal for A.S. XLV (5/10 – 4/11)

At Viceregal Court at Pennsic, Seahorses were given to Cian mac Fearguis and Margarita Ivanovna Novgorodetsa. Ysenda Macbeth took over as Seneschal and Suuder became the Captain of Archers in July. Wilhelm of Northpass became Seneschal for that canton and Francesco Gaetano Greco of Edessa became the Herald in September. At John Barleycorn on Sept. 11, Lady Marion of York was given a Grant of Arms and Lady Conandil was made a Companion of the Maunche. The Provincial Champions Tourneys were also held at Barleycorn; the winners were Guy de Cheval (Heavy Weapons), Friderich Grim (archery), Wolfgang der Sucher (Thrown Weapons), and Yeh-lu Targai (Fencing). Lady Lile Dubh inghean ui Mordh was chosen Arts & Sciences Champion in April.

Demos were held a the Queens County Fair on Sept. 18 and at the Cloisters Renaissance Fair on Oct. 2. Warrior’s Nadaam was held on Oct. 16, at which time Alaric Jager von Bremen was inducted into the Order of the Laurel.

Oscad de Segovia was inducted into the Order of the Tygers Combattant at Coronation on Sept. 25.

At Provincial Commons in October, Alexandre and Eularia formally announced their intention to step down as Viceroy and Vicereine. Immediately, Friderich Grimm and Lile dubh inghean ui Mordha, as well as Suuder and Lada, announced their candidacy. Guy avec Chevaux and Johanna ap Visby tossed their hats into the ring later.

A “Collegium Musica” was held at Blue Mountain Trail Lodge on the weekend of November 20. Vicereine Eularia Trewe was given the Order of the Pelican at Mudthaw on March 26.

Annal for A.S. XLIV (5/09 – 4/10)

In June, Melanie de la Tour became the Seneschal of Whyt Whey. At the Northern Region War Camp on July 4, Lady Lile Dubh inghean ui Mordh received her Silver Crescent. At Pennsic, Judith the Uncertain received a Maunche and Alexandre d’Avigne was made a Master of the Laurel. Demos were held at the Queens County Fair on September 19 and the Cloisters Renaissance Fair on October 3.

Annal for A.S. XLIII (5/08 – 4/09)

Shari of Seaford took over as Seneschal for Lions End in May. A Dance Event and Ball was held on May 17, and although an ex-patriate at the time, Lord Aethelstan St. Maur was inducted into the Order of the Silver Crescent for his work with Brokenbridge at the Tourney of St. Joseph on June 14.

It was actually a good summer for Silver Crescents. John Elys, Rufina Cambrensis, Devra the Baker, and Viceroy Alexandre d’Avigne all received that honor (the first two at EK War Camp in Glenn Linn on July 5, the latter two at Pennsic on August 7). Vicereine Eularia Trewe received hers at Hundred Minutes War on Nov. 22.

Thomas of Northpass was given a Seahorse at Barleycorn on September 6, where Suuder became the Archery Champion. The Queens County Fair was on September 20 and 21.

Warrior’s Nadaam, an RP, was held on October 18. Donus MacInstalker became the Thrown Weapons Champion that day. Brokenbridge held their Fallish Fiber Frolic on November 1, where a few Champions were made: Timur (Fencing), Oscad de Segovia (Heavy Weapons), and Ibrahim al-Rashid (Arts & Sciences).

The Province hosted Brewers’ Collegium on the weekend of March 7, and a demo was held as part of a gallery exhibit at Bard College on March 29.

Annal for A.S. XLII (5/07 – 4/08)

At Pennsic this year, Ana Ravaya de Guzman was inducted into the Order of the Laurel for her skills in poetry. In May, John the Bear became the Knight Marshal; in September, Judith Fitzhenry the Uncertain took over as Minister of Arts and Yeh-Liu Targai became the Captain of Fence; in October Devra the Baker and Ulrich von Rothenburg became Seneschals of Brokenbridge and Lions End (respectively); and Llewellyn ap Rhys became the Herald in November.

Demos were held at The Queens County Fair on the weekend of September 22 & 23.

The Warrior’s Nadaam event was held on October 15. Agincourt was held on November 3. At that event, Joanna ap Visby was made a Seadog, and Jenna Childslayer was given a Seahorse. At Twelfth Night on January 5, Joanna ap Visby was made a Companion of the Maunche. Lord Aethelstan of St Maur was made a Seadog at Brokenbridge’s Coney Hop event on February 17. “Fools of Gotham” was held on April 5.

The Province hosted the Coronation of Konrad and Brenwen on April 12. At that event, John the Bear was given a Grant of Arms and Brithwen de Boreshulla was given a Silver Crescent. Also, the Wetlands Alliance was reformed. A military alliance of Østgarðr, An Dubhaigeainn, Iron Bog, Settmour Swamp, and Bhakhail, it had existed previously (with only the first three groups) but had fallen by the wayside.

In more mundane news, Margarita Ivanova Novgoroditsa became the Provincial Seneschal and Mongo Chinua became the Captain of Archers in April.
